Ok everyone, the programmers are telling me that the problems with code showing are due to people trying to use fonts from outside of the site. The software for the forum only allows certain kinds of HTML, not others.
My question is, are they correct? Can anyone here get the bug/error/problem to repeat? I know a few of you have said the issue is internal to the site and not the fault of copying from somewhere else. If you can demonstrate and repeat the issue, then we can probably get the help we need… otherwise, the tech support people are sure this is an issue with copying inappropriate HTML from elsewhere…

ok that was just a few experiments using the various styles made available by the site.

If we cannot come up with some kind of a rule or method that creates this code showing in text error, then they will continue to tell me they can’t fix the issue. This has been going on for months. It’s a vexing problem because there seems to by no rhyme or reason. It just happens sometimes. Our attempts to find what’s happening and make it repeatable above were fruitless…
I messaged them recently saying the ticket should not be closed because it’s an ongoing issue, and they sent me the same kind of response I have been getting.
I guess I’m just sharing this with everyone as a reminder… if you DO figure out something that makes it show the code every time, that would be very helpful.

If you look at my posts from yesterday in the Film Club forum you will see I found another repeatable way of making code appear. The tech support hasn’t been able to get code to show on their own tests for months but it’s official, there are two ways to do it. One is by doing the “enter” thing Addam discovered and the other is by pasting something new info a post while in edit mode after it was already posted.
