Any thoughts on these intro books?

Freud by Jonathan Lear

or/and Lacan Belinda Beginner Guides by Lionel Bailly

I have both audiobooks. Good pair? Have other suggestions for secondary text / series or should I really do primary for Freud at least?

I like that one by Bailly quite a lot – I listened to it on Audible a couple times back in the day before the LACAN 101 series with Mikey. Not familiar with the other though!

I read the one by Lear, it’s good. He does a nice commentary on Freud’s cases. He is sceptical of death drive, and his critique is interesting.
